Why did you choose a livejournal instead of a regular website?
To put it bluntly. I can’t afford it. Yes, I know that there are comic websites that offer you free space and what not. But when I did the research, livejournal had more space and options available. Also I’ve had this livejournal for like – ever. So it just seemed easier for me for someone who likes to blog and also draw about life. Might as well do a comic about life. Kill two birds with one stone, ya know?

The color looks kinda funky, is there a reason for that?
Yes there is! A long time ago my old, big chunky, fat moniter stopped working and so I switched it for a sleeker, newer one my brother had stored away. When I hooked it up, everything was fine until it flashed and all of a sudden my white wallpaper is yellow. At first I thought that the color would be allright until I realized my browns are purple. So that’s why I try to keep the comic in black & white, although its hard because I LOVE to add color. Hopefully next year I’ll get a new compy and produce pretty comics.

Are you going to be at conventions?
Comic-con is probably the only place I can go to since its literally a trolley ride away from me. As for the question if I’ll get a booth, we’ll see. If enough people like the comic and the popularity rises, then I will. If not, then you can meet me person to person and we can have lunch together and we’ll go surfing in San Diego.

Can I link to your comic?
That would be awesome! I highly encourage people to link to the comic. Check out the banners where there are many things you can use.

Can I give you fanart?
Of what? You can, of course. And it’ll be the first fan art I’ve received in my life too. So if you do, then it’ll be the highlight of my life.

Comic process

Does everything that happen in the comics happen?
Yup. Everything is either a day after or a week after. But nevertheless, it happens.

How do you remember everything that happened in your comic?
Well for starters I always carry with me a pen and a pad of paper. When something funny happens, I write down the event, people, and the quote. That takes about six seconds so there you go.

What do you use to draw your comic?
Wacom tablet & Adobe Photoshop.

How long does it take to make one comic?
About an hour. Since I got the writing done in advanced, I can just simply sketch out the layout and later draw everything out. That’s why most of my comics are squar-y and simple.

Would you ever do a comic that’s more detailed?
Yup. One day, but not on the barbwiresodapop comics. In the future when I hope I’ll have my own website I can put on my own personal & conjoined projects. But for now, you’ll have to deal with the sketchy – solid color thingys.

Do you have a Myspace?
Sure do. Its neglected though, since I the last time I updated was August I think. Add me if you want, but don’t hate me if it takes me forever to respond.

Do you look like the girl in your comic?
Yes.

Whats your favorite thing to do?
Play games, and surf. I also love to read and hang out with my friends. Cooking is one of my passions and I LOVE to make pastries. I like to make cookies and give to my favorite comic artists at conventions.

So is your goal to draw for life?
Actually no. I just draw for fun and for the sake of my own personal entertainment. Actually I want to own my own coffee shop in Mexico one day. And also I want to take photos and write and make books for the rest of my life.

So why are you aiming to be an EMT?
That’s so I can have a steady, stable job while I’m at school. I’ve always had an interest in paramedicine so I’ve always wanted to do something like that. But I probably won’t go as far as an EMT. I’ve been a lifeguard for two years so it just came to me.

A lifeguard?
Yes. No Baywatch jokes, please.
